IoT MVP / Rapid Prototyping Services

Idea to User Testing in 6 weeks

Helping you build useful IoT solutions

Timelines and Budgets can vary from 6 weeks to 12 weeks depending on your business requirements, however we have found that a 6 week MVP process is generally the right amount of investment whilst receiving enough user feedback to be to make an informed decision.

An example of the process, timelines and deliverables our 6 week MVP includes is below.

STEP ONE - WEEK 1

Determine Target User & Define Value Proposition

In working with many product teams , we have witnessed the various challenges they face deploying IoT solutions within their organisations and which ones have worked well and what didn't. Over the course of this experience we have developed a framework and process for how to achieve a successful IoT solution deployment. It is all starts with designing the solution around the User / Customer.

Typical Deliverables:

  • User / Customer Personas
  • User Interviews
  • User Benefits / Value Creation
  • Opportunity Canvas / Business Canvas

STEP TWO - WEEK 2

Solution / Product Discovery

Here the IoT solution and your users expectations come to meet the technical reality. A product lead will collaborate with you to formulate solution requirements for the user experience. A technical assessment will allow us to decide whether full stack development is needed or it can be accelerated and money saved with off-the-shelf services. By defining the tech stack early we can select the development team.

Typical Deliverables:

  • System Diagram / Technology Stack
  • User Journeys
  • Solution Roadmap
  • Estimates for Development

STEP THREE - WEEK 3 - 4

Rapid Minimum Viable Product / Solution

Our Rapid prototyping services allows you to cheaply and quickly test the user value created with the IoT solution.

Because an IoT solution has so many integrated components, creating an IoT MVP can be time consuming for your enterprise. That is why we use our per-configured software tools and platforms to setup and deploy the MVP in 2 weeks based on the Target User and Solution Discovery Phases.

Typical Deliverables:

  • Low-fidelity wireframes / High-fidelity wireframes
  • Interactive prototype and Dashboarding
  • Device Sensors > Communications > Application Dashboards
  • MVP Architecture Documentation

STEP FOUR - WEEK 5

Testing the IoT MVP with Users

We conduct our user testing with one user at a time, for multiple users across the organisation. This way there are no negative group dynamics which can affect the test results.

Typical Deliverables:

  • User Testing utilizing 1-1 meetings
  • User testing with the support of Usertesting.com software
  • Finalize the prototype next steps based on the results and feedback of user tests.

FINAL REPORT & PROJECT MANAGEMENT - WEEK 6

MVP Report

At this stage we know a lot of information and data on the MVP, user expectations and what metrics need to be met to success in production.

All the guesswork has been eliminated, and we have crossed all the t's and dotted all the i's. At this point clients retain us to assist the in the full fledged business case development services, or select us as a long-term development partner for their solution.

Typical Deliverables:

  • A executive report for consumption across the enterprise.
